Primary Years Programme

Arc-en-Ciel International School is offcially accredited for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. Each year students undertake 6 Units of Inquiry that enable them to delve deeply into subjects and explore the world around them. Students also maintain high standards of literacy and mathematics skills  through stand-alone lessons in their timetables.

Middle Years Programme

In secondary school, students systematically apply their learning through monthly projects in  all subject areas. These projects may include tasks such as report writing, power point  presentations or scientific experiments. Rather than content based on a French or American curriculum, IB takes a global approach to education. All subjects embrace the international nature of the school, to allow students to grow with an open mind and understanding other cultures whilst being proud of their own cultural identities. Academic rigour is ensured through regular evaluation and thorough assessment.

Diploma Programme

The Diploma Programme is a pre-university course that spans two years, for students aged 16 to 18 years. Candidates choose six subjects, from the options available. The DP programme is externally assessed, therefore, parents can be assured of the rigour and quality of the qualification. Students of the DP take the same examinations as students from any one of the other 4,000 IB World Schools.

This external evaluation ensures objectivity and allows students of the school to be globally ranked regardless of race, religion, skin colour and the country in which they were raised.  Upon completion of the DP, students have access to universities across the world. For more information on all the programmes visit the IBO website at www.ibo.org.
